Terms of Service

The rules for using Img to STL, including AI generation, STL limitations, credits, subscriptions, billing, and acceptable use.

Last updated: 2026-07-21

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Img to STL, including our website, accounts, image upload tools, AI generation features, 3D previews, STL downloads, credits, subscriptions, and support services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated under the Img to STL name ("Img to STL," "we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account, purchasing credits or a subscription, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes that organization.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to use the Service. You may not use the Service if applicable law prohibits you from doing so. If you use the Service for a business or other organization, you are responsible for ensuring that authorized users comply with these Terms.

3. What the Service Provides

Img to STL lets you upload one or more reference images, ask an AI model to reconstruct a three-dimensional object, inspect an interactive preview, and download a generated STL file. Available models, quality levels, supported file types, upload limits, prices, credit costs, and features may change as the Service develops.

The Service is an AI-assisted starting point. It is not a 3D scanner, metrology tool, engineering service, CAD application, slicer, manufacturing service, or guarantee that an object can be safely or successfully printed.

4. Accounts and Security

You must provide accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and for activity performed through your account. Do not share your account in a way that bypasses plan limits or exposes another person's data. Notify us through Support if you suspect unauthorized access.

We may require email verification, additional authentication, or other reasonable security steps. We may reject or change account identifiers that impersonate another person, violate rights, or create security or operational risks.

5. Your Images and Other Input

You retain the rights you have in images, instructions, support attachments, and other content you submit ("Input"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, format, adapt, and process Input only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the requested generation and preview;
  • transmit Input to our AI and infrastructure providers;
  • store task history and make results available to you;
  • maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and support the Service; and
  • comply with law and enforce these Terms.

You represent that you own or have all permissions needed to submit the Input and permit this processing. Do not upload confidential, restricted, biometric, personal, or proprietary content unless you are authorized to do so and accept the processing described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Generated Models and STL Files

Subject to applicable law and third-party rights, you may use the generated model and STL file ("Output") for lawful personal or commercial purposes. AI output may not be unique, and another user may receive a similar result. We do not guarantee that any Output is copyrightable, registrable, non-infringing, or exclusively owned by you; those questions depend on your Input, your use, and applicable law.

You are responsible for reviewing Output before using, publishing, selling, manufacturing, or printing it. A successful generation or download only means that the Service produced an STL file. It does not mean that the file is automatically accurate, safe, manufacturable, or print-ready.

In particular:

  • AI reconstructs sides and details that are not visible in the reference images;
  • dimensions, proportions, openings, and fine surfaces may differ from the original object;
  • STL files contain geometry and do not preserve image colors or textures;
  • a basic file or surface check is not a complete print-readiness assessment; and
  • before printing, you should check scale, wall thickness, closed surfaces, intersections, supports, orientation, material, tolerances, and printer requirements in appropriate 3D or slicing software.

Do not rely on Output for medical, safety-critical, structural, regulated, or other high-risk uses without qualified independent review and testing.

7. AI and Third-Party Processing

The Service currently uses Fal.ai and the Rodin V2.5 model for image-to-3D generation. Your images and generation settings are transmitted to that provider to fulfill your request. Third-party services may experience queueing, outages, content restrictions, or changes outside our control.

Our current integration requests that uploaded input files expire from Fal.ai storage after 7 days and generated files after 30 days. Download any STL file you want to keep. A task may remain visible in account history even after the provider-hosted file URL expires.

Use of third-party infrastructure is also subject to restrictions that apply to those providers. Fal.ai publishes its Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Acceptable Use Policy.

8. Credits

Generating a model requires credits. The applicable cost is shown in the Service before you confirm generation. Different quality levels may use different amounts.

  • Subscription credits. Monthly subscription credits are issued for the monthly billing period and expire at the end of that period. Annual subscription credits are issued once for the full annual billing period and expire at annual renewal. Unused subscription credits do not roll over.
  • One-time credit packs. Credits purchased separately as a one-time pack do not expire due to time while your account remains available. They are not subscription credits.
  • General credit rules. Credits are non-transferable, have no cash value, cannot be resold, and may be used only for eligible features in the Service. Promotional or manually granted credits may have separate limits disclosed when granted.

When a generation task is recorded as failed, the Service automatically restores the credits consumed by that task. Your credit history may therefore show both a consumption entry and a related reversal while your available balance reflects the restored amount. A completed task that produces an Output you dislike is not a technical failure and does not automatically qualify for credit restoration.

We may correct a credit balance when necessary to reverse a duplicate entry, fix a technical or billing error, address fraud or abuse, or comply with law. We will not retroactively reduce valid one-time purchased credits merely because their purchase date has passed.

9. Subscriptions, Purchases, and Billing

Prices, included credits, billing intervals, currency, and applicable taxes are displayed before checkout. Payments are processed by the payment provider presented at checkout. You authorize that provider to charge the selected payment method for the purchase and, for a subscription, for recurring renewal charges until cancellation.

Subscriptions renew automatically for the same billing interval unless canceled before the next renewal. You can request cancellation from the billing area of your account when supported by the payment provider. Cancellation stops future renewal and normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period; it does not extend the expiration date of unused subscription credits.

We may change subscription prices or included credits prospectively. For an existing paid subscription, we will provide notice where required before a changed price applies to a future renewal. Taxes and currency conversion fees may be added by the payment provider or applicable authority.

Except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout or in a separate refund policy, payments are not refundable after credits or subscription access have been issued. Restoring Service credits after a failed generation is not a monetary refund. Contact Support promptly about duplicate, unauthorized, or incorrect charges.

10. Acceptable Use

You may use the Service only lawfully and in accordance with these Terms. You must not use the Service to:

  • upload or generate content that is illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, exploitative, or that infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights;
  • create or distribute child sexual abuse material, sexualized content involving minors, non-consensual intimate content, or content intended to exploit or harm a person;
  • impersonate another person or create deceptive models of a real person without the rights and consent required by law;
  • create or facilitate unlawful weapons, dangerous items, or instructions intended to cause harm;
  • upload malware or harmful code, probe security, gain unauthorized access, or bypass authentication, credit, payment, rate, or usage controls;
  • overload, disrupt, scrape, copy, resell, or reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • use automated access methods unless we have expressly authorized them; or
  • use Output in a way that falsely claims it is an exact scan, verified engineering model, certified design, or guaranteed print-ready file.

We may investigate suspected violations, remove or restrict content, refuse a generation, preserve evidence, and suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, third parties, providers, or the Service.

11. Service and Brand Rights

The Service, excluding your Input and Output, including its software, interface, branding, documentation, and original content, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service as provided; they do not transfer ownership of the Service or its technology.

If you send feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, provided we do not identify you publicly without permission.

12. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the Service available, but generation depends on networks, payment systems, AI providers, storage, and other third-party infrastructure. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, a particular completion time, continued support for a model, or permanent storage of files.

We may add, modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue features for security, legal, provider, performance, or business reasons. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice before a material discontinuation that affects an active paid subscription.

13. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion through Support. Canceling a subscription and deleting an account are separate actions.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay amounts due, create risk or legal exposure, abuse the Service, or if a provider or authority requires us to do so. Where appropriate, we may first provide notice and an opportunity to cure.

After termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive will remain effective, including provisions concerning ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability, and disputes. File links and unused credits may become inaccessible after account deletion; credits cannot be redeemed for cash except where law requires otherwise.

14. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and all Output are provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We do not warrant that the AI will accurately reconstruct an object, that Output will be unique or free from third-party claims, that an STL will work with particular software or equipment, or that any file is safe or ready for 3D printing. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Img to STL and its operators, suppliers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunities, or manufacturing costs arising from the Service or Output.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Img to STL during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) USD 100. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

16. Indemnity for Business Use

If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you will defend and indemnify Img to STL and its operators against third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from that business's Input, use of Output, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another party's rights, except to the extent caused by our own unlawful conduct. This section applies only to the extent permitted by law.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service, providers, pricing model, or law changes. We will revise the "Last updated" date and provide additional notice of material changes where required. Changes apply prospectively. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel any future subscription renewal.

18. General Terms

If a provision of these Terms is unenforceable, it will be modified only as much as necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, reorganization, financing, or sale of the Service. Electronic notices and transactions are valid to the extent permitted by law.

Any dispute will be handled in a court or other forum that has lawful jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections and dispute rights in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms limits a right or remedy that cannot be waived under applicable law.

19. Contact

Questions about these Terms, billing, or the Service can be sent to support@imgtostl.org or submitted through the Support channel available in the Service. Do not include passwords, complete payment card numbers, or other sensitive credentials in a support message.
